Programmes

Children's activity area craft timeHastings District Libraries hold a wide range of programmes throughout the year, involving both children and adults.

Summer

Our summer programmes include our very own Summer Sparks literacy programme for the 5-13 year olds, the #summerfun teen reading challenge for the 13-18 year olds, and a diverse range of holiday activities for all ages.

Winter

As well as our exciting events and activities for teens and kids, we run the 'Turn Up the Heat' reading challenge for adults during the colder months. There are fun challenges and even some prizes up for grabs to reignite a grown-up's love of reading.

Digital Storytime

Come along, hear stories about the war and make a poppy.

BINGO

Everyone loves a good game of BINGO. Join us to show us how good you are.

Make Create Do for Tweens - Woollen Weaving

Tuesday 17th April 
3:30 – 4:30pm
Come and learn how to cardboard circle weave and take home a cool piece of art! 
Ages 7 – 12.

(almost) ANZAC Day storytime

Thursday 19th April 
10:30 – 11:30am
Join us for stories, poems, crafts and ANZAC biscuits as we remember the soldiers who fought 100 years ago. 
Ages 3+.

Life at the Boundary

Friday 20th April 
10:30-11:30am
Learn about earthquakes, tsunamis and volcanic eruptions. You can even become a scientist too!
Suitable 7+.

Stampin It

Friday 27th April 
10:30 – 11:30am
Join us in turning everyday objects into stamps and create some inkcredible artworks. Suitable for all ages.

Unplugged

Monday 16th April 
1.00 pm - 3.00pm
Join us for an afternoon of unplugged gaming: Board games, twister, scrabble, cards. All ages.

Being Brave - Storytime

Wednesday 18th April 
10.30-11.15am
Relate the complexity of war to our youngest in our community, come along and share stories of bravery and a medal making craft with your child.
Suitable 2+.
